Legal Fees
The Manitoba Bar Association provides a suggested percentage-based guideline of legal fees for house purchase transactions. The actual fees may vary should the sale be unusually simple, complicated or otherwise unusual.
See the purchase transaction examples shown below for a more specific summary of legal fees and disbursements.
Please note the newly constructed home purchases, private transactions, relocation purchases and commercial properties are not considered "basic" and individual fee quotes should be obtained.
General Closing Costs
There are various kinds of closing costs, including realty taxes and interest, which are simply adjustments to the purchase price. Other types of closing costs would include, but are not necessarily limited to: fire insurance, mortgage appraisal fees, structural engineer's report (optional); a home inspection report (optional) and CMHC insurance fees (if applicable).
Closing costs refer to all payments that are made by the law office on your behalf, and which will be included in your down payment payable by you prior to the possession date for your home.
We will now consider these
closing costs or disbursements
in greater detail.
